President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail reviewed the investment plan of the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage designed in collaboration with the Consulting Research and Studies Institute. This came during a meeting held in this regard with the Dean of the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage Dr. Adnan Al-Harthi and the vice deans of the Institute at his office at the university campus in Abdyia.
At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Adnan Al-Harthi lauded the keenness of the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Bafail to give the opportunity to the affiliates of the Institute and listen to their future investment plan which is tailored in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 and comes within the role of the institute as one of the university's points of strength in achieving one of the objectives of the vision which indicated the importance of revitalizing of the national, Arabic and Islamic heritage sites and registering them at the international level. He noted that Umm Al-Qura University owns a historical legacy of manuscripts, documents, maps, and historical photos returning back to the late second Hijri century up to the beginning of the third Hijri century.
He explained that the contained historical legacy of the institute covers sharia, linguistic, medical, engineering, equational and humanitarian aspects besides the scientific publications and production. He said that the institute is aimed at investing the scientific knowledge and linking the community to its civilizational culture and history and supporting the university's mission through its scientific and community role in maintaining the Islamic heritage and its collection, verification, and publication.
For his part, the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail praised the support attached by the wise leadership to the educational process and the colleges, institutes and research centers associated with it. He said the programs adopted by the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage develop investment opportunities in the knowledge economy fields in the university and contribute to achieving the Kingdom Vision 2030 by such mean of highlighting the scientific and historical record of the Islamic sciences and its evolution throughout the ages and by maintaining its scientific manuscripts.
