UQU President Discusses Aspects of Cooperation with Ministry of Health in Research Programs of the pilgrims

The UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail discussed with the Deputy Minister of Health for Public Health and the Supervisor General of the Global Center for Mass Gathering Medicine (GCMGM), Dr. Hani Abdul-Aziz Jokhdar, the aspects of cooperation in the field of pilgrims health and the research studies carried out annually by the university represented by the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research. The meeting took place at the president's office at the university campus in Abdyia.  
 


Meanwhile, Prof. Bafail praised the support attached by the wise leadership to the comfort of the pilgrims, underscoring that the university represented by the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research works on annual basis to conducting several field studies related to safety and comfort of the pilgrims and dealing with the expected problems which might impede pilgrims from performing their rituals in the most convenient manner possible in line with the attention paid by the wise government to the Two Holy Mosques, Holy Sites and all the supportive services.   
 


He added that the objective behind this meeting is to combine efforts of the public and private sector institutions for upgrading the system of services provided for pilgrims. He referred to the annual contribution of the students of medical colleges to the pilgrims' health services together with the Ministry of Health.  He further lauded the support of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa provided for the educational process and the academic programs in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030. 


 
All the more, the Deputy Minister of Health for Public Health and the Supervisor General of the Global Center for Mass Gathering Medicine, Dr. Hani Jokhdar said the meeting is aimed at discussing the research studies related to public health services in the field of Hajj and Umrah. He said that Umm Al-Qura University represented by the Research Institute is reckoned an information bank in the scientific researches related to Hall and Umrah. "Suh cooperation between the two parties reflects the keenness to have a Hajj season replete with high-value research and health proficiency", he expounded.  

 
 
He went on to add that the discussed cooperation mechanism included receiving of medical colleges students who will join Ministry of Health team as trainees to provide services for the pilgrims. "They are providing medical care for pilgrims annually and have proved their experience as a result of what they have learned in their medical colleges", he elaborated. 
 

Wrapping up his speech he praised the keenness of the UQU President Prof. Bafail for his meeting and for opening prospects of cooperation between the university and the Ministry of Health such cooperation which will have a positive impact on the system of health services provided for the pilgrims
