On Thursday morning, Sha’baan 3, 1439 AH, corresponding to April 19, 2018, Al-Leith Health Sciences College held a health symposium entitled “Your Smile Is More Beautiful.” The event took place at Al-Haramain School in Bani Yazeed District.

The education exhibition accompanying the symposium focused on the most important themes: Oral health; good nutrition; diabetes; obesity; scabies. This is within the scope of the University Student Formation and Empowerment Project that is affiliated with Al-Berr Charity in Bani Yazeed.

This initiative was adopted by Al-Berr Charity in Bani Yazeed in coordination with the Department of Public Health at Al-Leith Health Sciences College, along with the coordination and organization by the students from the Formation and Empowerment Project. Hygiene kits, each containing a toothbrush and toothpaste, were distributed to primary school students.

The initiative was introduced under the auspices of the Department of Public Health at Al-Leith Health Sciences College, represented by Dr. Faleh Saud Al-Yazeedi, Head of the Department, and a number of faculty members. The aim was to raise students’ awareness through visual presentations; lectures; and an education exhibition, in addition to distributing education leaflets and brochures. This comes out of their belief and to fulfill their role in community service through health education on diseases in Al-Leith Province and its districts.

For his turn, Mr. Saud Jaber Al-Yazeedi, Executive Director of Al-Berr Charity in Bani Yazeed, together with the affiliates of the Charity, conveyed his thanks and appreciation to Mr. Khodair bin Khedr Al-Yazeedi, Leader of Al-Haramain School in Bani Yazeed District, for the warm reception; generous hospitality; and continuous cooperation. Afterward, he thanked the Department of Public Health at the Health Sciences College and its affiliates in Al-Leith Province for the fruitful, continuous cooperation. He said that such cooperation with the Department of Public Health at Al-Leith Health Sciences College and other institutions stems from the Charity’s programs toward its vision (treating poverty and ignorance through development). He added that this is the first cooperation initiative between both parties in the path of health awareness for providing education exhibitions in the future to the beneficiaries of the Charity.
