General Syndicate of Cars signed an agreement of unified shuttle transport follow-up system to monitor pilgrim buses of the companies under the umbrella of the syndicate. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Syndicate Mr. Ahmed Simbawa, and the Executive Vice President of Wadi Makkah Technology Company, Mr. Fakhri Zangari, on Sunday Shawal 17, 1437H.
The Assistant Director General of the General Syndicate of Cars, Mr. Osama Samkri, said the agreement includes collecting data of the traffic of the buses belonging to pilgrims transportation companies from the multi-systems available with these companies and then re-display it on a single e-map installed by the Syndicate, in a such manner which enables the officials in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Syndicate of Cars to monitor the pilgrims traffic inside the cities and the road networks linking these cities to adopt necessary measures as quickly as possible in case of any emergency.
He added that number of buses targeted by this project amount to 16200 buses to be implemented in a period of thirty days, given that the project aimed at ensuring arrival of the buses to their destinations in ease and comfort.
For his part, the Director of Technical Innovation in Wadi Makkah Company, Dr. Abdullah Morad said the majority of the companies have special follow-up system including equipment inside the buses, so the Company has designed a single system to link these systems with each other in such manner which allows the Cars Syndicate to monitor all buses and display this data in a simple way, and to prepare regular reports in this regard.
