The President of Umm Al-Qura University Professor Abdullah Omar Bafail received at his office at the university campus in Abdyia, the former President of the Islamic University in Al-Madinah Dr. Mohamed bin Farajj Al-Aqla, the Imam, Preacher of the Grand Mosque and the member of the UQU teaching staff Dr. Khalid bin Ali Al-Ghamdi, the Chairman of Board of Directors of Zamazemah United Office Mr. Abdul-Hadi Abdul-Jaleel Zamzami, and the Deputy Chairman of Zamazemah United Office Mr. Osama Abdullah Abdu, who came to congratulate  him on the occasion of designating him as the president of the university.

Meanwhile, the UQU President Professor Abdullah Omar Bafail appreciated the confidence entrusted on him by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz to take over the presidency of the university. He also praised the keenness of Dr. Mohamed bin Farajj Al-Aqla, Dr. Khalid Al-Ghamdi and the members of the Zamazemah United Office, to visit him and congratulate him on the occasion of this royal confidence. He underscored that the educational process in the Kingdom enjoys great interest from the wise leadership in such manner which contributed to providing the academic environment compatible with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030.   

He also praised the directives of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and his support to all programs and activities provided by the university to its affiliates at its main campus in Makkah and its branches at Jamoum, Al-Lith, Al-Qunfudhah and Adhm. He also praised the follow-up of the Minster of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa  of the educational environment to contribute to localizing knowledge-based economy. 

At the conclusion of his speech, Professor Bafail said the university is honored through its provided awareness programs in the consultancy, training and field studies to serve the pilgrims and visitors of the Grand Mosques and the Prophet Mosques in line with the visions and aspirations of the wise leadership. These programs, he added include consultancy services with the Zamazemah United Office in the engineering fields and  food safety to provide water services for pilgrims in a healthy and safe manner.
