 UQU President Values Approval of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques to Support Students on Scholarships Abroad

President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail appreciated the approval of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz on a recommendation made by the Crown Prince HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman, the Deputy Premier and the Minister of Defense,  to grant students abroad on government scholarships and those studying at their own expense and allowance of 2000 $. The recommendation also included expanding the country’s overseas scholarship program to include Saudi students who are studying abroad at their own expense to support them and their educational march.

 

He said that such orientation comes as part of the Keenness attached by the wise leadership to the educational process in the Kingdom and to the students  abroad on government scholarships enrolled in the most prestigious universities worldwide so as to be equipped with knowledge to serve their religion and country in light of the development boom taking place country in the Kingdom in all fields. 

 

He went on to add that UQU students abroad on government scholarships are amounting to 950 in the MSc, Ph.D. and fellowship programs, indicating that the academic achievements of those students will have a positive impact on the quality of the outcomes of the university and its 596 programs provided through its different departments reaching up to 119. He also lauded the support and directives of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa to support academic and educational environment in the university in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030.
