UQU President Meets Saudi Engineers Working in the Grand Mosques Projects

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University(UQU), and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Expansion Project of the Grand Mosque,  Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas, reviewed the mechanisms adopted to detect concrete and safety means in the grand mosque projects and other associated projects including; the grand mosque hospital in Hajoun, the grand mosque's central services building, support forces and crowd management building, civil defense building, public security building. This came during his meeting with the Saudi engineers working in the committee, in the presence of the head of the technical committee of the project, Dr. Faisal Wafaa. The meeting took place at the offices of the committee at Al-Ghaza  area.
 
Dr. Al-Assas termed the concern and attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz King Salman of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, Mohammad Bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince and Minister of Defense, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, to the projects of the Two Holy Mosques of budgets worth billions of riyals as continuation to the efforts of  the Kingdom in this regard since its unification by the late founder Kind Abdul-Aziz.  
 
He lauded the directives and attention paid by the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal to the works of the committee represented in providing requirements of safety means and ensuring quality of the concrete. 
 
He added that the works of the committee are not limited only to the projects of the grand mosque and included providing qualifications to the engineers involved in the works of the committee according to the  highest quality standards through the internationally-certified professional courses and workshops offered to them, besides providing training for more than 700 students from the engineering colleges in Saudi universities since its inception.   
 
Within the same vein, the head of the technical committee, Dr. Faisal Wafaa explained that the visit comes in the context of the regular visits and meetings with the chairman of the supervisory committee to follow-up the works of the committee which includes about 200 highly qualified Saudi engineers after obtaining several training and professional courses. He indicated that the committee is responsible of assuring the quality of the concrete and applying safety requirements in the grand mosque projects.  
 
He lauded the visit of the chairman of the supervisory committee and his meeting with the members of the committee at their workplace, pointing out that the engineers involved in the grand mosque projects have overseen providing of safety requirements and professional health for the works accompanied the removal of the temporary mataf for the safety, comfort and tranquility of the guests of the holy mosque. "Despite having the temporary Mataf in a crowded area, its removal works completed without reporting any incidences due to the awareness of the engineers of the technical committee involved in the removal works of the occupational hazards and their commitment to highest safety standards", Dr. Faisal said, lauding the cooperation they have found from the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet Mosque and Command of the Special Forces for the Security of the Holy Mosque and all parties relevant to the work of the committee.
