President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas received the international accreditation for the programs of the Centre for Safety, Risk and Crisis Management (SAFE), one of the centers affiliated to the Consulting Research and Studies Institute included in UQU Oasis for Consultations. This came while receiving the Dean of the Consulting Research and Studies Institute Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari and vice deans at his office in Abdyia-based campus.
The Dean of the Consulting Research and Studies Institute Dr. Ali Al-Shaari said SAIF Center is an initiative approved by the Ministry of Education among the winning National Transformation Initiatives 2020 and among the 9 winning initiatives, the largest share of human and financial resources was allocated to it, and by which our university became distinguished compared to other Saudi universities. He added that the center will offer the approved executive diploma in the health, safety in the constructions and professional and risk management safety. He noted that the international accreditation will cover also a number of training programs of the center including; risk awareness, risk management, safety and risk management, occupational health and safety management for Health Care Professionals, secure management, secure work, secure leadership, fire safety, fire safety awareness and work environment.
Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Shaari lauded the support and attention paid by the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas to the initiatives and activities of the Institute set to create a national reference in the field of knowledge and technology production, transfer and localization and contribute to localization of the leadership transformational programs aimed at building and developing a world-class university. He noted that partnerships with global players in the fields of security, safety, and risk and crisis management are considered part of the most significant strategic objectives of SAFE. "Therefore, the priorities of the Center included building partnerships and developing mechanisms of cooperation with the relevant parties internally and externally. Within a short period, the Center succeeded in obtaining accreditations from international organizations and institutes", he expounded.
For his part, the UQU President Dr. Assas lauded the keenness attached to the committee by the Custodian of the Two Hoy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud and heir apparent Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to the programs of the university in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030 which contributed to creating knowledge- based academic environment keeping pace with the international universities through the its provided programs and modern educational technologies.
He also lauded the keenness of the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal for sponsoring the launching of Wadi Makkah Consultations Oasis which include SAIF Center and other centers specialized in medical sciences and other programs required by the labor market in the region. He also praised the attention paid by the acting Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bander bin Abdul-Aziz to the programs and activities provided by the university, praising also the follow up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa to the various activities of the university. Concluding his speech Dr. Assas praised the efforts exerted by the team of the Institute in establishing UQU Oasis for Consultations which is reckoned the knowledge and technological arm of the university.
