UQU President Approves Admission of 1200 Students for Graduate Studies for the Year 1439/1440 H

President of Umm l-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas has approved results of the candidates for admission to postgraduate studies programs including; "PhD, MSc, Higher Diploma", for the academic year 1439/1440 H amounting to about 1200 male and female students during a meeting he held with the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, the Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Harthi and the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies for Admission Dr. Suleiman Ahmed Al-Saeed. The meeting took place in the President's office at the Abdyia-based campus. 

 

On this occasion, Dr. Assas congratulated the candidates for admission to the university for the academic year 1439/1440 H after they have successfully passed the written, oral and personal interview tests and wished them all success. He then lauded the support attached to the university by the wise leadership in such manner which enabled it to prepare study halls and laboratories according to the highest standards adopted in the educational process and will have a positive impact on the educational outcomes of the university graduates who will practice their skills in the labor market serving their nation and community. He also lauded the support and directives of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa thus enabling the university to achieve excellence in several fields.  

 

 “All the technological and human potentials are used for admission to the postgraduate studies program for the academic year 1439-1440A H via the university’s unified online portal,” added Dr. Assas, saying that “Work is underway to update postgraduate studies program for Ph.D., MSc and Higher Diploma levels to keep pace with the Kingdom Vision 2030”. He indicated that university programs for postgraduate studies exceed 100 in sharia sciences, Arabic language, engineering, applied sciences, education, and humanities. He then lauded the efforts exerted by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, Dean of Postgraduate Studies Dr. Saeed Al-Harthi and the staff of the deanship and the scientific departments which contributed to conducting the admission process according to the set plans.    


For his part, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies Dr. Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Harthi reviewed the numbers of admitted male and female students amounting to about 1200 students including more than 150 teaching assistants and lecturers stressing the need to log into the unified admission portal to view admission results. “Upon approval, the approval notification must be printed and attached with the required documents besides reviewing view the schedule to confirm documents for each college starting from Jumada Al-Thani 18 until Rajab 5, 1439 H”, he expounded.  

 

He called upon the candidates occupying governmental posts (academic or other posts) to submit: an approval from the workplace for the masters and higher diplomas, an approval from the authorized person to study for the Ph.D. on a full-time basis for a period that is not less than 6 semesters,  the scholarships and internal grants decisions for the applicants to the Ph.D. program must be submitted and the last date for receiving these decisions is Thursday Dhul-Qe'dah 27, 1439 H after which the admission will be void. 


Concluding his speech, he lauded the follow up of the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi and all the staff involved in the admission process for the postgraduate studies programs.
