UQU President Meets Head of Ahl Al-Hadith Society in Kashmir

Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas, Umm Al-Qura University President, has met Sheikh Gholam Mohamed Bet, the Head of Ahl Al-Hadith Society in Kashmir, and the accompanying delegation that consists of Dr. Abul Latif Al-Kendy, the Society’s Secretary General; Sheikh Mohamed Yacoub Papa Al-Madani, Kashmir’s Mufti; and Adel Yacoub, the Society’s Member. The meeting was attended by Dr. Faisal Ghazawi, the Dean of the College of D'awa and Fundamentals of Religion; Dr. Abdullah Al-Qarni, the Dean of the College of Arabic Language; and Dr. Talal Mathni, the Vice Dean of Students Affairs. It was held at the President’s office in the University City in Al-Abediya.

At the beginning of the meeting, the UQU President welcomed Dr. Gholam and the accompanying delegation in the University of Umm Al-Qura. He lauded the efforts exerted by the government of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for serving the Islamic nation. He noted that the Holy Mosques’ projects, holy feelings, and safety and security of the pilgrims are among the top services offered by the wise government for the Islamic nation throughout the world.

He added that the wise government has great efforts in serving the students of the Islamic nation who aspire to complete their educational path in the Kingdom’s educational institutions. Dr. Bakri highlighted that the number of UQU’s students from India reached around 47 in 1438/1439H. The students are studying the Sharia sciences and Arabic Language and are divided into 22 in the Bachelor degree, 15 in the Masters programs, 4 in the Phd programs, in addition to 6 in the Diploma of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers. He then wished all the students the best of luck.

After that, Sheikh Gholam Mohamed Bet, the Head of Ahl Al-Hadith Society in Kashmir, praised the consideration and support of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Minister of Defense and First Deputy Prime Minister, for the Islamic nation and offering them educational opportunities in the Saudi universities.

Sheikh Gholam showcased the efforts of Ahl Al-Hadith Society, highlighting that it supervises around 1,000 mosques and 175 schools. He added that the society was established nearly a century ago and aims at advocating for the rightful faith that is derived from the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet, and rescuing and aiding the conflicts and natural phenomena-affected people. He noted that the society offers training programs in the Arabic and Islamic sciences.

Afterwards, the UQU President handed the Head of the Society and the accompanying delegation a Digital Atlas of Makkah, which is one of the university’s releases.
