Medicine and Medical Sciences Research Center Participates in World Laboratory Day at Hiraa’ Hospital

The Medicine and Medical Sciences Research Center participated in the World Laboratory Day on Thursday 6 Jumada Al-Akhira 1439AH, through a generous invitation from the committee organizing the the World Laboratory Day Symposium titled “Laboratory Challenges, bridging the gap” and the blood bank at the Hospital of Hiraa’.  This took place through supervising the introductory corner at the Molecular Biology Laboratory, which was implemented by internship-year students at the Department of Laboratory Medicine in UQU, to introduce the Medicine and Medical Sciences Research Center to the Deanship of Scientific Research at Umm Al-Qura University.
The preparation of the corner and introducing it was done through the presentation of previous research studies in the field of partial and hereditary diagnosis, with clarifications about the most important research techniques in the field, delivered by Professor Jaidaa Saleh Diri, assistant scientific researcher at the microbiology laboratory in the center, under the supervision of the center's agent, Dr. Sumia Hashim Hariri. Moreover, responses were given to inquirers about the Center's voluntary work.
 The corner received Dr. Waleed Hussein, the Director of Hiraa’ General Hospital; Dr. Mohammed Flamban, the Director of Quality and Patient Safety Department in Makkah; Dr. Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Medical Director in Prince Sultan City in Riyad; Dr. Jaafar Khiyari, Assistant Laboratory Manager at King Faisal Specialized Hospital, and Dr. Dalal Fekry, the Director of Hiraa’ Hospital Laboratory.

Moreover, from UQU, the corner received Dr. Ayman Al-Sayegh, the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences; Dr. Maher Indigany, the Vice Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences for Hospital Affairs; Dr. Radi Al-Safi,Vice Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Naeem Qasti, the Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine. Thanks were extended to the Deanship of Scientific Research for its support and guidance towards participation in community service, led by the Dean of Scientific Research- May God bless him.
