Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas, the President of Umm Al-Qura University, has inaugurated the two buildings of the University College in Al-Laith, the girls section, which accommodate 2000 students. The event was attended by Dr. Abdul-Majeed bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, UQU Vice President for Branches; Dr. Mohamed bin Abdullah bin Al-Malki, the Dean of Al-Laith University College; Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Al-Qabaa, the Governor of Al-Laith; Mr. Mare’y Al-Barakaty, the Head of Al-Laith Education Department; and the Deans of the Assisting Deanships. The event took place at the Prince Sultan Charity Housing Complex in Al-Laith Governorate.
Upon his arrival to the headquarters of the building, Dr. Bakri cut the ribbon announcing the inauguration of the two buildings. After that, the event started with a speech for the Dean of the University College, in which he welcomed the UQU President and the presence. He noted that around 1400 students were housed in the two buildings lent to the University College of Al-Laith. The building were fully-equipped with the modernest educational equipments. He added that the educational complex consists of two buildings; each consists of a ground floor and three identical floors. They include 50 study halls and a multi-purpose hall. Moreover, there are specialized rooms for the offices of the Colleges Vice Deans and teaching staff members, in addition to the services and administrative halls.
He highlighted that the students of the Departments of Islamic Studies and Social Service were moved to the new buildings. He lauded the support and follow up of the UQU President and UQU Vice President for Branches, which contributed to offering an educational environment that is attractive for science and learning. He also praised the cooperation of Mohamed Al-Qabaa, the Governor of Al-Laith, and Mr. Mare’y Al-Barakaty, the Head of Al-Laith Education Department.
Dr. Sara Al-Khouli, the Vice Dean of the University College in Al-Laith, said that the inauguration of the buildings is an indication that the leaders of this blessed country considers the nationalization of education and spreading science and knowledge. She added that this building is being built to accommodate the (1400) students of the Departments of Islamic Studies and Social Service, so that the number of students in the main building, which used to accommodate all the students, would be (2700). This building includes the students of the Departments of English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Education and Psychology, Family Education, in addition to the College of Computer of which the number of students reaches (250).
That was followed by a speech for Reem Al-Emary, a student, who explained that the new facilities, which include study halls convenient for the educational and research processes that raise the ambitions of the students, have contributed in creating the suitable educational atmosphere for their educational achievement. She called on everyone to work hard and benefit from all the available resources for the scientific achievement and educational excellence.
Thereafter, Dr. Bakri gave a speech, in which he praised the support given and being given to the university by the wise government, led by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and First Deputy Prime Minister, which contributed to getting the latest educational methods and the highly-qualified human cadres at the university’s main campus and its branches in Jamoum, Al-Laith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah provinces. He also lauded the directives and follow up of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and current Governor of Makkah Province, and Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, for the UQU projects and activities. He highlighted that Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa, the Minister of Education, has provided his support and follow up for the UQU different activities and programs.
After that, the UQU President made a tour in the educational halls and building’s facilities.
