Institute of Consultation Studies Organizes Training Program about Firefighting by Computerized Devices

Umm Al-Qura University's Institute of Research and Consultation Studies, represented by the Engineering Training and Development Unit, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Makkah, organized the training program "Examining and Testing the Fire Equipment Systems, Fire Modeling Basics and Smoke Extraction System by Using Computers" that was presented by Eng. Wael bin Rashed Ali Al-Mehrazi, a trainer, for three days at the institute's hall- the university headquarters in Al-Abadiya.

Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Shari, dean of the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies, said that these courses are organized owing to the cooperation between all government agencies and the different sectors; pointing out that the desired goals for such a cooperation are the provision of what serves the nation with the National Transformation Plan 2020, and according to the Saudi Vision 2030. He lauded the support that the institute receives from HE UQU President, Dr. Baki bin Matouq Assas. Such support led to its excellence in several aspects, whether related to training or consultations.

In turn, Dr. Raed bin Abdurrahman Shalwala, the Institute's Vice-dean for Professional Accreditation, said this course is an extension of the Umm Al-Qura University's strive, represented by the Institute for Research and Consultation Studies, to serve the society as well as all that serve science and knowledge in order to provide developmental consultations, research, educational and community services, and professional training programs.

Dr. Sahl Waheed elaborated that the positive impact of these programs is reflected on the development of those work in the fields of safety, fire prevention and fire control systems as well as smoke control in all facilities and their direct impact on the safety of lives in emergencies.
