On his own behalf, and on behalf of the University affiliates, the President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz on the occasion of the issuance of his royal decree which ordered payment of the annual bonus and cost of living allowance of 1,000 riyals for the public sector employees and military personnel, an allowance of 500 riyals for pensioners, soldiers on duty defending the country in the southern borderline will receive 5,000 Saudi riyals. He has also raised the student allowance by 10 per cent for a year and will also pay the VAT - not exceeding 850,000 riyals - for the purchase of a first home by Saudi citizens.
Meanwhile, Dr. Assas said that the royal decree reflects attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to his people and citizens indicating that these noble royal decrees were preceded by similar decrees in the previous months represented in the citizen's account which provide help for low and medium income families and individuals to meet the expected increase in energy prices besides granting a month salary for the military and security sectors thus reflecting keenness of the wise leadership and rulers of this country led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to deal with citizens' affairs as their top concern and attention besides raising their living standards to live in dignity under this care.
To wrap up, Dr. Assas prayed Allah, the Almighty, to protect the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Heir Apparent, and to perpetuate for this country its security, stability and prosperity and to make the country of the Two Holy Mosques a lasting beacon of dignity to defend Islam and Muslims all over the world.
