Geography Department's Cultural Committee concluded its scientific meetings on Thursday Rabi Al-Thani 3, 1439 H with a lecture by Dr. Ahmed Al-Shareie under the title: Modern Trends in Urban Geography in the Beginning of the 21st Century". The lecture which took place at the department's meeting hall at the university campus in Abdyia, was attended by the members of the teaching staff and students.
Department of Geography held two scientific meetings on important and recent issues including; determining the best location for solar energy utilization in Makkah region using geomatics presented by Dr. Khalid bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghamdi on King Vision 2030 anticipation presented by Dr. Abdul-Hafeez Mahboub during the ongoing semester.
Meanwhile, the Head of Geography Department Dr. Omar bin Ali Al-Hazmi said such activities and events enrich the department cultural and educational environment by spreading culture of cooperation between faculty members and students and the existence of faculty members from different prestigious universities in such manner which will motivate students to taking advantage of such activities which are in line with the academic requirements and programs. He then lauded directives of the College Dean Dr. Mohamed BaSagr and his support provided for organizing such activities which will contribute to honing and developing students talents.
