President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas has received at his office at the university campus in Abdyia certificates of international academic accreditation awarded by the American Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) to computer programs of Jamoum and Al-Qunfudhah University Colleges from the deans of the colleges who obtained the accreditation. The Meeting was attended by UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi and the deans of the relevant colleges and supportive deanships.
On this occasion, UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas said achieving such academic accreditation is attributed to the support attached and still to university by the wise leadership in such manner which contributed to creating the proper educational environment and academic programs complying with the international requirements of obtaining the international academic accreditation and keeping pace with the Kingdom Vision 2030. He then lauded permanent follow-up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Eesa to programs and activities carried out by the university which have had a positive impact on the renaissance of the educational and research streams.
Further, Dr. Assas congratulated UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, Deans of the relevant colleges and their affiliates for earning these achievements, indicating that obtaining of the international accreditation by these colleges comes within the developmental steps adopted by the university in all its scientific colleges and departments to upgrade their educational and research level, in addition to their community contribution in accordance with the standards of the programs of the most prominent universities at the global level.
For his part, Dr. Hani Ghazi said as per the strategic plan designed by UQU Vice Presidency and approved by the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas 29 academic programs in 13 colleges have achieved academic accreditation so far in the bid to approve all university programs from the international accreditation agencies specialized in granting such certificates by the end of 2019. He added that significant steps have been made to obtain the institutional accreditation of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment by the end of the year 2018.
All the more, Dr. Hani extended his thanks and appreciation to former Dean of Jamoum University College Dr. Faisal Baghdadi and current Dean Dr. Tawfiq Al-Sharif and all the team contributed to this achievement. He also extended his thanks to former Dean of Al-Qunfudhah College of Computer Dr. Yassin Al-Zubaidi and the current Dean Dr. Jabir Al-Zahrani and the team contributed to this achievement, praising the efforts of UQU Vice Presidents, Deans of Supportive Deanships and the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit and all those who contributed to this achievement.
In turn, the Dean of Jamoum University College Dr. Tawfiq Al-Sharif, and the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah Computer College Dr. Jabir Al-Zahrani expressed their thanks and appreciation to UQU President, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dean of University Development and Quality and the Accreditation team for the efforts exerted to obtaining such achievement.
