President of Umm Al-Qura University who serves also as the Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas reviewed at his office at the university campus in Abdyia the report of Wadi Makkah to be presented in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and Kingdom Vision 2030 before the meeting to be organized by the Ministry of Education with the Saudi universities next Wednesday at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. Present in the meeting were, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Deputy Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company, Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf, Dean of Consulting Research and Studies Institute Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari and Director of University Vision Realization Office (VRO) Dr. Mohamed bin Ali Al-Ghamdi.
At the commencement of the meeting, CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf briefed the meeting on the report to be submitted by the company showing the mechanisms to be adopted by the company during the coming period represented in innovation, scientific research, development and entrepreneurship, besides the mechanism of taking advantage of the initiatives of National Transformation Plan to design Wadi Makkah in a creative manner in order to attract all researchers and innovators in Makkah region and contribute positively to knowledge economy.
He added that Wadi Makkah will focus at the first level on developing Hajj and Umrah services by crafting knowledge products serving pilgrims underscoring that Wadi Makkah services have become available for all segments of the community including; inventors and innovators at the local and external level. He then lauded support and directives of the UQU President, Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Bakri Assas and the close follow-up of the Deputy Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Hani Ghazi.
For his part, President of UQU Dr. Bakri Assas valued the support attached to the university by the wise government which contributed to creating a first-class innovative scientific environment attractive for innovators, entrepreneurs, and owners of startups, resulted from the scientific research in the university. He added that patents were turned into tangible products under the slogan of "Made in Makkah" and have become available in the market.
Likewise, Dr. Assas said that Wadi Makkah obtained confidence of a number of government and private bodies in return for its provided technology programs depending on its talented figures, explaining that number of students in the university exceeds 120 thousand at the university main headquarters in Makkah and it branches in Jamoum, Al-Lith, Al-Qunfudhah and Adhm who are taught by an outstanding constellation of faculty members exceeding 7 thousand. He then lauded the efforts of the Deputy Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Hani Ghazi and CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf which have had a positive impact in the products of Wadi Makkah.
Within the same vein, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Deputy Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company, Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi said that company will increase its investment activities in the coming phase to include a number of vital fields through its affiliated companies such as Tilal Al-Namaa Real estate Investment Company, Ma'ad Al-Marifa Publishing and Distribution Company, Wadi Makkah Company for Embracing and Accelerating Business and other subsidiaries in such manner which will diversify company's income resources. He valued support and directives of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas which contributed positively to the diversification of the company's products serving Hajj and Umrah system in accordance with Kingdom Vision 2030.
