The Department of English is pleased to announce the publication of a scientific study titled Exploring metadiscourse in preface sections in textbooks by Dr. Aisha Saadi Raja Allah Al-Sobhi, Associate Professor of Linguistics at the department, as lead researcher, in collaboration with Prof. Hamoud Sanad Al-Otaibi, Professor of Linguistics at the University of Sharjah, as co-researcher. The paper was published in the journal Pragmatics and Society, issued by John Benjamins Publishing Company, on October 6, 2026.
