President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas received in his office at the University Campus in Abdyia on Sunday Rabi Al-Awal 8, 1439 H the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences Dr. Waleed Altaf and the Head of Chemistry Department Dr. Ismail Al-Thaqafi. The meeting was set to receive the annual report of the Chemistry Department for the academic year 1437/1438 H.  

During the meeting, Dr. Assas reviewed the report which documented the department achievements including; the academic and research activities, teaching activity, scientific lectures, the role of the department in serving the university and community the department vision, mission and objectives, summer training besides the decisions and recommendations of the department council for the academic year 1437/1438 H.

He then lauded the efforts exerted by Chemistry Department and the Deanship of the College of Applied Sciences and expressed his admiration for the contents of the report and the effort exerted in its preparation. He also lauded the exerted efforts which led to all the achievements and developments made by the department and the college. 

In turn, the Dean of the College, Dr. Waleed Altaf expressed in his name and on behalf of  all the affiliates of the college and the department of chemistry his thanks and appreciation to the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for his continuous support which reflects his keenness in upgrading college outputs and its mission towards excellence and effective community partnership.  

For his part, the Head of Chemistry Department Dr. Ismail Al-Thaqafi extended his thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and the College Dean Dr. Waleed Altaf for their continuous support provided for the events and programs of the department.
