UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou paid an inspection visit to the buildings of Jamoum University College accompanied by the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majid bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of Jamoum University College Dr. Tawfiq Ali Al-Sharif, Supervisor General of Events Center Dr. Hisham Maghrabi, Director General of Public Relations and Media Department Mr. Khalid bin Jamil Morsi and a number of officials from the Departments of Operation, Maintenance and Projects.
Meanwhile, Dr. Shoushou said the visit comes to follow-up the academic projects implemented by the university in its branches at Jamoum, Al-Lith, Al-Qunfudhah and Adhm in line with the directives of the UQU President D. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas. He then lauded efforts exerted by the UQU Vice President for Branches in achieving these projects which serve the educational environment in Jamoum. He also praised the Dean of Jamoum University College for his unremitting efforts.
He went on to say that the project of the buildings of Jamoum University College was implemented according to the highest standards and specifications to provide the proper educational and academic environment for all students.
For his part, the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majid bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi said the buildings allocated for students have an area of 13 thousand square meters accommodating 4 thousand students. In includes; 88 study halls, 16 labs, 2 medical clinics, 22 computer lab, 58 administrative offices, cafeteria, meeting hall and other services utilities. Whilst the buildings allocated for female students have an area of 8700 square meters accommodating 3 thousand students. It includes; 21 study halls, 10 computer labs, 8 chemistry, physics and biology labs, an educational studio, mosque, medical clinic, cafeteria, theatre, administrative offices, meeting hall in addition to the previous extension which was linked to the new buildings.
Within the same vein, the Dean of Jamoum University College Dr. Tawfiq Ali Al-Sharif said the college offers programs for female students in the fields of computer, accounting, mathematics, media, social work, besides the scientific majors. For male students he said, it offers programs in the fields of computer, accounting, mathematics, Arabic language, Islamic studies, besides the scientific majors. He added the total number of students enrolled in the college for academic year 1438/1439 H amounts to 3100 student including; 1500 male students and 1600 female students.
