The Tourism and Hospitality Management Department showcased an impressive display of innovation at the University’s Graduation Project Exhibition on the 6th of June 2024, presenting 39 senior projects developed by students using creative thinking methodologies, all backed by comprehensive feasibility studies. The department’s exhibit was organized and supervised by faculty members Mr. Abdullah Al-Zahrani and Prof. Yousery Nabil, under the direction of Dr. Fatima Almaghrabi, the department chair, and with support from college leaders and the Dean Dr. Anas Hakeem, emphasizing entrepreneurial thinking among students.
This year’s projects included a standout concept of an AI-powered resort, which was designed to enhance guest experiences through artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies. Students presented an immersive simulation for exhibition visitors, showcasing the resort’s unique approach to hospitality. Another group developed the “Star Café,” featuring newly crafted recipes inspired by star names. Additional projects highlighted Saudi culinary dishes transformed for international appeal and a café project implementing interactive green policies.
The department’s exhibit drew large crowds, with visitors engaging in meaningful discussions with students, some even exploring the potential for turning these projects into real businesses. The exhibit was also visited by Dr. Amer Al-Zaidi, the university’s vice president for Academic Affairs, who encouraged students to pursue these projects and make them a reality.
