President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas ordered the relevant authorities in the university to swiftly provide the technical requirements and fittings for the labs of the College of Applied Sciences and the department of Islamic Architecture in the College of Engineering and support them with all needs necessary to enable them achieving professional standards of obtaining the international academic accreditation and setting the necessary arrangements to receive the delegation of the external audit team of the German Accreditation Agency ASIIN during the expected visit next December.
This came in the meeting held at his office in Abdyia with the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani Osman Ghazi in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi with the participation of the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed bin Jafaar Thabit, the Dean of Applied Sciences College Dr. Waleed Altaf, the Vice Dean of University Development and Quality, Vice Deans of Applied Sciences, the Vice Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education Dr. Jameel Al-Salafi, the Department of Islamic Architecture in the College of Engineering and the officials of the Department of Maintenance and operation.
He said Umm Al-Qura University will save no effort to provide all the physical and technical capacities and all the scientific preparations for all the colleges and departments of the university so as to upgrade its educational levels to be in line with its counterparts in the most prestigious global universities in addition to its diligent pursuit to make all its scientific department obtain the academic accreditation from the internationally recognized agencies in the field.
He stressed the importance of scheduling all the actual requirements of the College of Applied Sciences and the Department of Islamic Architecture and to swiftly responding to them to achieve the desired objective pointing out that the number of the university programs which obtained the international accreditation is amounting to 27 programs.
It's worth mentioning that the UQU President was briefed by UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani Ghazi and the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit during the meeting on the program of the visiting German Accreditation Agency (ASIIN) and the latest preparations and arrangements made by the UQU Vice Presidency for Development and Entrepreneurship and the Deanship of University Development and Quality. The meeting also discussed the mechanisms to be adopted in this regard.
He then praised the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship and the Dean of University Development Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit for their efforts exerted in the field of academic accreditation and the executive program and the strategy of such a thing in its scientific and regulatory frameworks. He also extended his thanks, appreciation to the Dean of Applied Sciences Dr. Waleed Altaf and the Dean of Engineering and Islamic Architecture Dr. Hamza Ghulman for the steps taken in this regard and their exerted efforts to achieve such aspirations.
