UQU President Honors Volunteers Served During Hajj Season 1438 ا

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas honored a group of students who volunteered to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season 1438H totaling up to 750 students representing university colleges and scout club. This came during a ceremony organized by the Deanship of Students Affairs in the presence of the Deans of the Colleges and the Dean of University Studies for Girls on Monday Safar 11, 1439 H at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Hall in Abdyia. 

 

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Assas said the university is honored to participate in serving the pilgrims together with other agencies harnessed by the government of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and the Crown Prince to overcome all challenges so as to enable all pilgrims, visitors and Umrah doers to perform their rituals easily and conveniently. "Based on its scientific and educational role and its social responsibility, Umm Al-Qura University is very keen to instill values of volunteering work amongst its students through their effective participation in serving pilgrims", he expounded pointing out that volunteering work of the university male and female students has become an integral part of the curriculum in some colleges in addition to the university role in the researches and studies provided by the  Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research in this regard.

    

Further, Dr. Assas urged everyone to feel the responsibility of such role and the rewards earned from Allah in this regard and he lauded the efforts exerted by the Deanship of Students Affairs and all the colleges participating in the volunteering works. 

 

For his part, the Dean of Students Affair Dr. Amro bin Taha Al-Saggaf praised- in his speech- the efforts exerted by male and female students volunteers served during Hajj season, to make the volunteering work a success which is reckoned the highest noble work desired by Muslim people in general and Saudi people in particular towards the pilgrims. He also praised the efforts of all colleges of the university and their noble works provided for the sons of this blessed country in general, and the students of this esteemed university in particular, to stand up to such religious and national duty.

     

He added that the numbers of students served as volunteers during the last Hajj season amounted to more than 750 representing the Colleges of Medicine in Makkah and Al-Qunfudhah, College of Pharmacy, Colleges of Dentistry and Applied Medical Sciences, College of Nursing and Scouts Club. He lauded the cooperation of the Ministry of Health in providing the proper environment which enabled the students to undertake their roles in this regard.  He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of Umm Al-Qura university for overcoming all challenges thus enabling the Deanship of Students Affairs to participate effectively in serving pilgrims.
