President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas has met with the Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Kingdom Mr. Hameed Aeed Maghaza to review the programs offered by the university in the aspects of Arabic and Sharia sciences and discuss Tanzanian students admission mechanism. The meeting took place at his office in Abdyia in the presence of the Dean of Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers Dr. Hassan Bukhari.
At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Assas welcomed the Tanzanian ambassador and his accompanying delegation and lauded the support attached to the university by the wise leadership which contributed to providing the proper research educational environment in all fields including Arabic, sharia sciences besides the medical and scientific sciences. He added that 13 Tanzanian students are enrolled in the university including; 4 students in the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers, 5 students in the College of D'awa and Theology and 4 students in the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
Meanwhile, Dr. Assas said the university receives admission requests for scholarships via the unified admission portal in the university website from the beginning of the month of Muharam and for three months then these applications are sorted, checked according to the available seats and forwarded to the competent authorities for approval. After that the admission notification are sent to the approved students. He praised the cooperation of the Tanzanian Ambassador to the kingdom Mr. Hameed Maghaza and his keenness to visit Umm Al-Qura university and learn about its academic programs.
For his part, the Tanzanian Ambassador praised the support and approval of the government of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques to receive the Tanzanian students in Umm Al-Qura University, the Islamic University in Madinah and Imam Muhammad bin Saud University in Riyadh in several fields including; Arabic language and Sharia sciences and he also praised Umm Al—Qura University for receiving Tanzanian students and for offering a number of educational programs.
