Deanship of Graduate Studies Holds Annual Student Orientation Forum

The Deanship of Graduate Studies (for female students) held an annual orientation forum for PhD, Master's, and Diploma students in Al-Jawhara Hall, Al-Zahir Campus. Present were the Dean of University Studies, Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudi, the Vice-dean of University Studies, Dr. Maysoun bint Zayed Al-Bonian. The Vice-dean of Development, Dr. Azhar bint Hasan Lal, the vice-deans of supporting deanships and scientific research. The Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Saeed Al-Harthi participated through video conference from Abbideayah Campus.

The event started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech of Dr. Al-Harthi, who stated that this forum aims to introduce female students to UQU regulations, bylaws and different services and answer any queries they might have. He commended the support of the UQU President, Dr. Bakri Matouq Assas, which had a positive role in graduate studies system development. Al-Harthi also lauded the efforts of supporting deanships staff in organizing such events.

In this respect, Al-Harthi stressed the major role of the Deanship of Graduate Studies in upgrading the academic and research level for higher studies students. The deanship works hard to ensure development in accordance with UQU strategic plans to expand graduate studies programs in line with job market requirements and Vision 2030.

 Further, Al-Harthi indicated that the number of students admitted into graduate studies programs for the years 1438/1439 H amounts to over 1000 covering PhD, Master's and Diploma programs. He called upon the students to work hard and adopt integrity and honesty in academic documentation and research.

Later, Dr. Al-Amoudi congratulated D. Al-Harthy on his designation as the dean of graduate studies, praising the deanship's efforts in removing any obstacles that might face students. She stressed the importance of dialog between students and university administrators and thanked Dr. Maysoun Al-Bonian for her valuable efforts in female students' branch.

Finally, Al-bonian gave an account of regulations and bylaws for graduate studies.
