UQU President Presides Over the 1st Meeting of the University Scientific Council for the Academic Year 1438/1439 H

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas headed today Tuesday the 1st meeting of the University Scientific Council for the year 1438/1439 H held at the university campus in Azizia in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, the Secretary General of the Council Dr. Maraai Al-Shihri and the members of the council. 

 

At the commencement of the meeting Dr. Assas congratulated everyone on the occasion of the beginning of the academic year 1438/1439 H wishing them an year full of hard work and dedication. He emphasized that  the scientific council is reckoned the gatekeeper and the solid base of the scientific, educational and research processes. The council, he added  organizes  the academic affairs of the faculty members and the persons of similar status in this blessed university the matter which increases the responsibility shouldered by its members and must be realized by everyone.  
  

 

He then lauded the steps taken by the University in the various scientific, educational, and research fields as a result of the generous support the university received and still from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and continuous follow-up of the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and the permanent direction pf the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Ieesa  to place the university in the rank of the top universities.     

 


After that, he reviewed the requirements of the new universities phase and urged the council members to keep pace with these requirements and to work diligently to achieve the goals required from the scientific council. 

 

After that, the council discussed topics on the agenda.
