President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas headed the meeting of the standing committee for university senior management to make suggestions on the draft of the Saudi Universities Regulation and to discuss the topics on the agenda. The meeting took place at his office in the university campus in Abdyia.
At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Assas congratulated UQU Vice Presidents and male and female affiliates of the university including; faculty members, employees and students on the occasion of the academic and the new Hijri year 1439 H wishing to have an year full of hard work, diligence and scientific and practical achievements which boosts the educational status achieved by the university under the support provided and still for the university by the wise leadership. He also lauded the follow-up and supervision of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Ieesa and his support provided for all the programs of the university.
He went on to add that the draft of the Saudi Universities Regulation recently come to light will make our procedure more flexible and will accelerate the process of developing the wheel of scientific research and entrepreneurship. He them lauded the efforts exerted by the UQU Vice Presidents which have had a positive impact on approving the university academic programs by the World Accreditation Commissions and agencies pointing out that the university endeavors to obtain the institutional accreditation granted by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment by the end of the current year 1439 H.
It is worth mentioning here that the standing committee for university senior management includes the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas as the Chairman, and the following as members; UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir Shoushou, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji, and the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi.
