President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas has ordered adopting all necessary measures to make the educational environment ready in the university main campus in Makkah and its branches in Jamoum, Al-Lith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah to receive the students at the beginning of new academic year 1438/1439 H. He also ordered formation of a standing committee to follow up university projects at its different facilities under his chairmanship including; the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir Suleiman Shoushou as Deputy Chairman and the membership of UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi, a number of officials, Deans of the Colleges and the Department of Facilities Management. 

This came during a meeting he held at his office in Abdyia in the presence of UQU Vice President  Dr. Yassir Suleiman Shoushou, UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi, a number of Deans of the Colleges, members of the Higher Committee for Safety, Maintenance and University Security, and the officials of Facilities and Services Department. The meeting set to discuss status of central air conditioning stations in Abdyia, the annual plan of the works of Facilities and Services Department for the coming two years and the annual plan of the works of the Departments of Safety and Security.      

During the meeting, he congratulated all the attendees on the occasion of the new academic year and wished them all success in their work, educational and scientific march. He said work is underway to prepare and set central air condition stations 1, 2 to ensure their quality before the beginning of the new academic year and prepare the educational environment in line with the university's scientific status. He added that all study halls were prepared with seats, lightening and technology means in coordination with the colleges and supportive deanships.  

He went on to add that the total number of the university students is amounted to 110 thousands, while the total number of the students of the first-year who were admitted for this year 20 thousands at the university main campus in Makkah and its branches in Jamoum, Al-Lith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah. He then lauded the support attached to the university by the wise leadership the thing which contributed positively in providing the educational environment which corresponds to the scientific status of Umm Al-Qura university.  

For his part, the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir Shoushou lauded the directives of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and his support provided for ongoing work to receive the new academic year. He added that field offices were formed at the university main campus in Abdyia and university branches in Jamoum. Al-Lith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah to respond to the complaints of the colleges and other university facilities  via an icon set on the UQU website to receive these complaints and respond to them immediately.
