Umm Al-Qura University represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research signed on Tuesday Dhul-Qe'dah 23, 1438 H research cooperation agreement with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). The agreement was signed by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi and Executive Vice President for Engineering and Projects at SEC Eng. Khalid Al-Rashed.

The agreement signing ceremony witnessed participation of the Head of Innovation, Research and Development sector in SEC Eng. Ahmed Al-Mubarak and a number of UQU Senior staff members including; CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf, Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Information Dr. Abdullah bin Omat bin Baz, Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Sceintific Chairs Dr. Abdul-Wahab Al-Rasini, the Director of Engineering Research Center in the Deanship of Scientific Research and the Deputy head of Science and Technology Unit Dr. Emad Flimban and the Head of Electric Engineering Department Dr. Mohamed Al-Al-Sheikh. 

The agreement is intended to start applied research cooperation and make use of the research and scientific expertise available at UQU in partnership with the applied and practical expertise of SEC Engineers to serve the nation and achieve the national objectives.
