President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas presided over the first meeting of the University Investments Committee to go into the investment aspects and set short and long term plans besides the mechanism of implementing these plans. The meeting took place in his office at the university campus in Abdyia on Thursday Shawal 26, 1438 H in the presence of the members of the committee.
During the meeting, Dr. Assas said the investment return the university planning to achieve during the coming period will have a positive impact on boosting university revenues besides the support the university received and still from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense which had a significant impact on upgrading the educational environment that was prepared according to the highest and latest technical standards.
He added that investment will be opened in several fields including; training, intellectual property and knowledge investment in which the UQU Vice Presidency of Business and Innovation has made great strides in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030. " Partnerships will be boosted with the private sector and the priority will be given to male and female students to make small investment projects under the university support", he expounded saying that intensive workshops will be held to set the executive procedures and list the investment locations.
It's worth mentioning here that the investment founding committee includes UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas as a Chairman, UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir Shoushou as a Deputy Chairman besides the UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice president for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Taha bin Amro Al-Saggaf, Dean of College of Community and Continuing Education Dr. Khalid Barqawi, Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies Dr. Ali Al-Shaari, Supervisor of the Legal Department Dr. Hamdan Al-Ghamdi, the Financial Controller Mr. Adil Attas, Dean of the College of Islamic Economics and Finance Dr. Saleh Al-Aqla, as members and the Executive Director of the Support of Educational Programs, Research and Innovation as a member and rapporteur.
