UQU President Receives Director of Association for Social Awareness and Rehabilitation in Makkah to Discuss Means of Cooperation

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas received at the meeting hall of his office in Abdyia campus the Director of Association for Social Awareness and Rehabilitation (Wa3i) in Makkah Mr. Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al-Shamarani and his accompanying delegation. The meeting that took place on Monday Ramadan 10, 1438 H,  was attended by the Dean of Community Service College Dr. Khalid Barqawi. 

 

At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Assas welcomed the Director and members of the Wa3i Association in Umm Al-Qura University. Then he listened to an elaborate presentation by those in charge of the association about its objectives, mission and awareness role in increasing social awareness on the educational side and in providing guidance for the talented youth.  

 

Within the same vein, the Director of  Wa3i Association in Makkah Mr. Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al-Shamarani said that the Association endeavors based on its mission and objectives to cooperate with all sectors and bodies in Makkah and take advantage of their expertise. In this regard he said Umm Al-Qura is one of the important institutions which the association seeks to benefit from its academic expertise  and cooperate to serve Makkan community. 

 

For his part, UQU President Dr. Assas said that the university is always pleased to cooperate with all parties involved in community service explaining that the university includes a number of colleges and scientific chairs  in addition to its faculty members who are interested in the field of social services including College of Community Service, College of Community and Al-Bir Chair for Humanitarian Services. 

 

" Thanks to Allah, the university has contributed through these colleges and scientific chairs to provide several forums, and initiatives which served the community and the associations and parties involved in this field", Dr. Assass expounded, extending his thanks to the Director of  Wa3i Association foe his visit.  

 

After that, the Dean of Community College and Continuing Education Dr. Khalid Barqawi highlighted the most important initiatives made by the Community College in different fields in addition to organizing workshops, conferences and symposia in this  field.
