UQU President Receives Djibouti  Minister of Islamic Affairs, Media, and Culture

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas received at his office in Abdyia campus on Sunday Ramadan 2, 1438 H the Djibouti's Minister of Islamic Affairs, Media and Culture Mr. Moumin Barreh Hassan accompanied by the Djibouti's ambassador to the Kingdom Mr. Diauldeen Saeed Bamakhrama and a number of Djibouti's officials. Present in the meeting were the Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies Dr. Ghazi bin Morshid Al-Otaibi, Dean of College of Arabic Language Dr. Abdullah Al-Qarni and Dean of Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers Dr. Hassan Bukhari.   


During the meeting, the two sides exchanged candid talks and agreed to support cooperation between Umm Al-Qura University and Djibouti's universities in the educational, academic and research fields and to take advantage of the experiences of Umm Al-Qura University in providing training and qualification for the preachers to undertake their role in the sharia and language sciences.  

 

After that, Dr. Assas shed light on the university and its different scientific and research streams, in addition to its mission to serve Islam and community. He referred to the role undertaken by the university towards the foreign students from the Islamic nation who are received by the university annually alongside their Saudi brothers by providing them educational opportunities in the Sharia and Arabic language colleges and the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers via the scholarships offered by the Saudi government represented by the Ministry of Education. He added that the university accommodates a number of Djibouti's students in the colleges of Da'wa and Islamic Theology, Sharia and Islamic Studies and the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, who are receiving the needed care and concern to continue their studies.      


For his part, the Djibouti's Minister of Islamic Affairs, Media and Culture Mr. Moumin Barreh Hassan expressed his thanks and appreciation to the government of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz for the study scholarships provided for the Djibouti's male and female students to receive education in the fields of Sharia and Arabic language in the Saudi Universities as general and Umm Al-Qura University in particular, wishing for such cooperation and coordination to increase between the University and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Media and Culture in such manner which serves and achieves aspirations and hopes of everyone. He then lauded the solid bilateral relations between the two friendly countries under the support and concern of the leadership of the two countries.     


Further, the Djibouti's Minister valued the efforts exerted by Umm Al-Qura University and its keenness to provide the needed care for its students in general and the Djibouti's students in particular. At the conclusion of the visit, the two sides exchanged memorial gifts.
