On behalf of the UQU President, the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman bin Ahmed Shoushou sponsored the closing ceremony of field training activities of the Department of Social Work at the College of Social Sciences in the presence of the Dean of Social Sciences Dr. Mohamed bin Ahmed Basagr, Head of Social Work Department Dr. Nassir Al-Zahrani and a number of representatives of government and national agencies working in the educational, medical and charity sectors. The ceremony took place at Al-Jawhara Hall at the university campus in Al-Zahir.  

Upon his arrival to the ceremony venue, UQU Vice President launched the accompanying exhibition of the fields training activities related to the department of social work and toured different pavilions of the exhibition. 

After that, the ceremony was commenced with a Quranic recitation, then the Head of Field Training Committee in the Department of Social Work, and the Vice Dean of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education for Education Affairs Dr. Turki Abo Al-Ela delivered address saying that students of field training have exerted significant efforts throughout the year and proved that they are capable to shoulder the responsibility and to achieve their fieldworks with sincerity and dedication thus contributing to upgrading training mechanism. He lauded support and directives of the College Dean Dr. Mohamed Basagr, praising the permanent follow up of the Head of the Department.

Within the same vein, the Head of Social Works Department Dr. Nassir Al-Zahrani said that efforts exerted in the field training activities by the department of social work is endeavored to touch upon the needs of the people particularly in the humanitarian aspects required by the community therefore, all workers in this field deserve thanks and appreciations for the positive impacts of their efforts in addressing community needs in the educational, health and social fields.  

In a similar fashion, Dean of Social Sciences Dr. Basagr said the concept of social work is available everywhere in the public life including; universities, and many national and government centers indicating that the department graduates large number of students annually to work in this field. He then lauded support and directives of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and praised the honorable attendance of the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir Shoushou in the closing ceremony. He also praised the efforts exerted by the head of the social works department Dr. Nassir Al-Zaharani and all staff of the department.      

For his part, the UQU Vice President Dr. Shoushou said that the ceremony embodies the community partnership with the government and national institutions given that a constellation of faculty members have significant contributions to a number of field work aspects in the field of social work. He said that quality of  the creative works of students  of field training at the department of social work is no less than that of the international exhibitions and forums. He lauded efforts of the Dean of the Social Sciences Dr. Mohamed BaSagr, the Head of Social Work Department Dr. Nassir Al-Zahrani and all faculty members at the department for their efforts which contributed to the success of the field training. He also commended the students works resulted from the field training. 

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Shoushou honored the partners from the government and public sectors. He also honored the members of the field training committees.
