Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, concluded a number of consulting contracts with the Princess Seetah Bint Abdulaziz Award for Social Excellence, a group of national companies, and the Holy Capital Police. The aim of the contracts is to activate the Princess Seetah Center for Vocational and Social Rehabilitation at Umm Al-Qura University. This event was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Award and member of the Board of Trustees, His Highness Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Saud Al-Kabeer, and a member of the Board of Trustees, His Highness Prince Salman bin Muhammad Al Saud, in the Prince Sultan Grand Hall, Al Faisaliah Hotel, in Riyadh, on Tuesday.
As a whole, these contracts aim to provide a set of advisory and professional development services that qualify students for the labor market and end with employment for young men and women graduates of high school and universities. Families receiving social security, people with disabilities, orphans and families of martyrs of duty will be targeted in the first place. This is with the aim of social and professional empowerment of families and individuals in need.
It is worth noting that the tripartite contracts come in solidarity between the university and the institute, in partnership with various groups: the Warkan Hotel Chain, Abdul Samad Al-Qurashi Company, Nesma Holding Company, Abdul-Ghani Company of the Ancient House of Gold and Jewelry, Al-Faisaliah Hotel, and the Holy Capital Police.
The Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Muhammad bin Naif Al-Sharif, stressed that these contracts come in response to the needs of the private sector; about 545 job contracts will be provided. These agreements also include providing advisory solutions, through three analytical research studies, to the social problems arising from unemployment.
In turn, the Secretary General of the Princess Seetah Bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work, Prof. Fahd bin Hamad Al-Maghlouth, explained that these contracts are intended to achieve a number of objectives of the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Center for Vocational and Social Rehabilitation at Umm Al-Qura University which are compatible with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, the contracts aim to achieve the objectives of the Human Capabilities Development Program launched by His Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may Allah safeguard him, to develop human capital, in line with the needs of the labor market. They also aim at creating new job opportunities that are aligned with the skills and career enablers of young men and women. The contracts further develop their creative and analytical skills and localize them local jobs, in partnership with the public, private and non-profit sectors.
In this regard, the Vice Dean of Umm Al-Qura University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Sha`iri remarked: "These contracts come as a result of the advisory contract that was signed, after a consultative study, to establish the Princess Seetah Bint Abdulaziz Center for Vocational and Social Rehabilitation at Umm Al-Qura University, under the generous sponsorship of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal. This contributes to the localization of jobs in the Makkah region in the hands of skilled and qualified Saudis for these special training and qualification programs, according to the needs of the region."
In turn, the General Supervisor of the Department of Volunteer Work and Social Responsibility at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Sumayyah Sharaf, reviewed the executive and operational role played by the university towards the professional and social issues of the surrounding community. She explained the importance of the contribution of the concluded consulting contracts to the localization of jobs in the industry, tourism, management, marketing and other sectors.
