President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas on Thursday, Shabaan 8, 1438H held a meeting with Indonesian Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Kamaruddin Amin and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Dean of Institute of Arabic Language for Non-native Speakers Dr. Hassan Bukhari and Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Saleh Al-Furaih.
Dr. Assas welcomed the Initiation Deputy Minister and wished him successful visit to the university to boost scientific, academic and research cooperation. They reviewed role played by the university in the three fields and developments of its colleges and institutes in addition to support given by the Saudi leaders to achieve goals of better education quality and community service. The president welcomed more cooperation with the Indonesian ministry in the fields of Arabic Language and Islamic Shari'ah studies.
For his part, Amin said the aim of his visit to discuss means of cooperation with the university in the domains of scientific fields of study, research, Arabic Language, and Shari'ah. He thanks Dr. Assas for his warm welcome. They exchanged memorial gifts in the conclusion of their meeting.
