Vice Minister of Health Checks on Wadi Makkah Products

Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs Mr. Hamad bin Ali Al-Dowaile' paid a visit to Wadi Makkah Company on Thursday Sha'ban 8, 1438 H, accompanied by Supervisor General of Hajj and Umrah Program Dr. Hussein Ghanam, Director General of Makkah Health Affairs Dr. Mustafa Baljoun, Director General of Jeddah Health Affairs, Dr. Misha'al Al-Sayyali and Director General of World Program for Mass Gathering Medicine  Dr. Badria Al-Otaibi, to check on latest applications and technology products in the field of medicine and mass gathering. 


The delegation was received by UQU President and Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas, UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, who serves also as the acting UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani Ghazi,  CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Fisal Al-Alaf, Director General of Public Relations and Media at Wadi Makkah Dr. Majid Abdullah, Founder of “Soft Care” for Health Care, Dr. Abdullah Murad in addition to a number of  founders of Wadi Makkah startups.    


Upon his arrival to Wadi Makkah Headquarters, the Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs checked on an introductory presentation about the company which includes its achievements and strategic plan 2022. 


After that, UQU president delivered speech welcoming the Vice Minister of Health for Health Affairs and his accompanying delegation, explaining that Wadi Makkah embraces several startups resulted from the scientific research and patents systems and turned them into tangible products under the slogan of "Made in Makkah" succeeded in selling Hajj and Umrah services and others. 


Likewise, Dr. Assas said that Wadi Makkah obtained confidence of a number of government and private bodies in recognition of its provided technology programs depending on its  talented figures, explaining that number of students in the university exceeds 120 thousand at the university main headquarters in Makkah and it branches in Jamoum, Al-Laith, Al-Qunfudhah and Adhm who are taught by an outstanding constellation  of faculty members exceeding 7 thousand.    He then lauded keenness of the Vice-minister of Health to visit Wadi Makkah and his interest in the cooperation with the company in medical and health technologies and aspects particularly those relevant to pilgrims health. 


After that, the delegation toured the e-sensors factory, where they listened to an elaborate account of the work methods in the factory and how e-sensors work. It followed that they viewed a presentation on Wadi Makkah startups and the technology products they offer. Those companies include; Indoor Navigation Company (Navibees), Smart Cities Company (Averos), Medical Technologies Company (Softcare), Tawseel Company, Digital Data Analysis Company (Lucidya), Medical Laboratories Company(BioKubes), and Smart Control Company (Breez). 


At the conclusion of the visit, the Vice Minister of Health expressed his pride in Wadi Makkah company which is run by Saudi competencies branding his visit as a beginning to make use of these technologies particularly in the medical fields and he wished to make use of these technologies for the benefit of pilgrims and Umrah doers. He then lauded keenness of UQU President and all the company staff to cooperate with the Ministry of Health.  

 

For his part, UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, who serves also as the acting UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani Ghazi extended his thanks and appreciation to the delegation of the Ministry of Health for their confidence entrusted to products and technologies of Wadi Makkah startups, underlining that the company is putting  all its technology  potentials at the disposal of the Ministry of Health in order to serve Makkah, its visitors and residents to achieve the kingdom Vision 2030 which stipulates "adherence to developing and expanding limit of services provided for pilgrims and Umrah doers to help them perform their rituals in an easy manner".

 

Within the same vein, CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf said that Wadi Makkah technologies have obtained the confidence of many clients in the government and private sectors, confirming the readiness of his company to deal with all agencies in the public and private sectors. He extended his thanks and appreciation to UQU President and Chairman of Wadi Makkah Board of Directors Dr. Bakri Assas who attaches special concern to the company for its significant role in transferring, localizing and developing technology to contribute to boosting the knowledge-based economy in the Kingdom.
