UQU President and Deputy Minister of Education for Infrastructure Discuss Developing Infrastructure of the University Cities

President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas  discussed with the Deputy Minister of Education for Infrastructure, Eng. Yunus bin Omar Al-Barrak the mechanism of developing infrastructure of the university campuses at its main headquarters in Abdyia and branches at Jamoum, Al-Laith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah provinces. Present in the meeting that took place at his office at the university campus in Abdyia, was UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi  


During the meeting, Dr. Assas reviewed UQU university cities at its main headquarter in Makkah and branches at Jamoum, Al-Laith, Al-Qunfudhah and Adhm provinces which include more than 120 thousand students in all scientific branches required by the labor market in the medical, engineering, sharia and Arabic language sciences, with more than 35 colleges, 23 deanships and scientific research offering about 600 program.  

 

Further, he valued support and attention paid to the university by the wise leadership. He also praised close follow-up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Ieesa extending his thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Minister of Education for Infrastructure for inspecting projects of Umm Al-Qura University on ground.  

 


For his part, the Deputy Minister of Education for Infrastructure, Eng. Al-Barrak said his visit comes according to the directives of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Ieesa to directly inspect needs of university cities with the officials of UQU particularly that the university is reckoned one of the largest universities in the Kingdom covering wide geographical zone and accommodating large number of students living in the areas surrounding the university cities. He said all ongoing projects were reviewed in addition to ways of developing and making use of them, besides completing infrastructure works in conjunction with the projects close-out program in accordance with the requirement of the current phase so as for these projects to contribute to  providing proper educational environment. He went on to add that, these projects will contribute also to developmental plan in the neighboring areas  and to achieve the Kingdom Vision 2030 to invest in human element which is reckoned the most important figure in the state's developmental march.
