Umm Al-Qura University has advanced 400 positions in the Times Ranking for the academic year 2022 A.C., obtaining rank no. 601-800. The university has continued to proceed in its pioneering steps within the different categories and has kept promoting its competition at the international level by developing its academic programs and endorsing its research outputs according to the best practices compatible with the targets of the educational sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The UQU President, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, asserted that the progress achieved by the Saudi universities in the Times International Ranking is the result of the care and support that our wise leadership, may Allah protect it, pays to education, research, and innovation. This progress is also a result of the intensive care and support on the part of his Excellency the Minster of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, and His Excellency the Deputy of the Minister for Universities, Research, and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sudairi. Moreover, all the affiliates of the Saudi Universities have exerted great efforts to develop the educational system and scientific research according to indicators and criteria approved by international classifications.
On his part, the Vice President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri, pointed out that the university has achieved considerable progress in the different international classifications during the last year. This was due to the integration of the university’s bodies and the unification of its academic, research and innovation efforts, in addition to its contributions to community services to fulfill the requirements of every ranking. He added that the university has invested the expertise of its cadres, developed its academic capabilities, and improved its output to gain employers' satisfaction and become able to compete for work opportunities in the business world.
