Ms. Dalal Alsharif, lecturer of English Literature in the Department of English, presented a paper on Saturday June 5th, 2021, entitled “The Image of Saudi Women in Modern Fiction" in the
International Conference on Comparative Literature which was held online at the London Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the United Kingdom (5-6 June).
The paper explores the image of Saudi women in two modern American novels
The Wing of the Falcon (1995) by Jo Franklin and
The First Stone (1997) by John Briley. The study concludes that the problems presented in the novels are mostly related to traditional practices in the society and not to Islamic teachings.
