President of Umm Al-Qura University opened on Monday Rajab 27, 1438 H the activities of the 6th annual scientific research forum at the headquarters of the Dental Teaching Hospital in the College of Dentistry, in the presence of the Dean of Dentistry College Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Khotani, Vice-deans, heads of the departments and the students participating with their researches.  

Dr. Assas checked on male and female students scientific posters and activities displayed at the main hall of the college and listened to an elaborate presentation about the contents of these researches and its ideas and results from those in charge of it.   

Dean od Dentistry College Dr. Ak-Khotani explained that the scientific research forum is reckoned an important event  to which the college attaches significant concern and its continuation for six years confirms the endeavors of the college to moving forward and working diligently to set solid and sound scientific outputs aimed at achieving developmental objectives and keeping pace with the new developments in all branches of science and knowledge.    

He referred to the importance of scientific research in our modern era for the advancement and progress of nations, as such the college of Dentistry has set within its main strategies not only to support scientific research but to encourage students to involve in such activity from the beginning of their study. "Thanks to Allah and then to the support and keenness of the UQU President, the college has managed to create an ideal environment for scientific research", he expounded. 

Within the same vein, Dr. Khalid Abo Al-Shamat said the college has made several achievements in the field of scientific research where 14 scientific papers were published in well-known scientific journals and 36 scientific posters were made during this year by the undergraduate students. He then lauded support and concern of the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and the College Dean Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Khotani.

 
For his part, President of UQU Dr. Bakri Assas lauded the highly qualified teaching and scientific cadres and students who contributed to the various achievements of the college which have become one of the pioneering colleges in the field of dental medicine. He added: we are currently living in the era of the innovative researches that contribute to transferring ideas into products to serve the community. He then lauded the support the university received and still from the wise leadership and the close follow-up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa to place Umm Al-Qura in the rank of the globally advanced universities.
