UQU Advances 27 Positions in the British QS World University Rankings with an International Ranking of 447

Umm Al-Qura University advanced 27 positions in the QS World University Rankings 2022 and gained the 447 position, continuing its progress in various academic classifications and enhancing its competitiveness in the global and regional arena. This is achieved through continuous development of the educational environment in accordance with international best practices, quality control standards, and administrative governance.

This accomplishment coincides with the university being ranked in the (301–400) band in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking for sustainable development goals by achieving 15th place, among 966 international universities, in the teaching pillar. With this success, the university has become one of the world’s best universities, competing to promote the impact and implementation of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (The Impact SDG’s 2021).

The President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, stressed the continuous keenness and the support of the university in making use of its personnel's skills and its technical capabilities, following an approach that is in line with the scientific and applied development in the Saudi Kingdom's education systems. Moreover, the university endeavors to ensure continuous development of the university training programs using applied methods similar to the work environment and appropriate for its needs. This contributes greatly in enabling the university outputs to meet the requirements of the work sector and in developing personnel capabilities and a knowledge-based economy. It also achieves the directives and the goals of the ambitious vision related to qualifying the citizens and improving university outputs.
