1 Establish project team and select cybersecurity challenge to be addressed (threats, vulnerabilities, or security requirements)

2 Project proposal: describe problem definition, project objectives, project scope, and expected project benefits

3 Literature review and feasibility study

4 Project management and security compliance plan: outline development approach, security standards compliance, milestones, deliverables and timeline

5 Security requirements specification: detail threat model, security controls, compliance requirements, operational security requirements, and security assumptions

6 Security architecture design: describe defense-in-depth approach, security control placement, incident response procedures, and security monitoring design

7 Final report: bind all project deliverables in a single report

8 Final presentation: describe the key ideas of the project via an oral presentation
