First Stage (Year of 1393 A.H-1404 A.H.)
The first breakthrough of the journals of Umm Al-Qura University dates back to the merger of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies and the College of Education to King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, as a part of UQU in Makkah Al Mukarramah*, as follows:
Second Stage (Year of 1409 A.H-1419 A.H.)
The first issue of UQU Journal of Scientific Research was issued in 1409 A.H., after the establishment of Umm Al-Qura University in 1401 A.H., including branches of knowledge and different sciences such as Islamic studies, Arabic studies, and the social, applied, and educational sciences. (18) issues containing (163) research papers were issued.
Third Stage (Year of 1419 A.H-1429 A.H.)
In 1419 A.H., the journal was divided into three scientific journals, as follows:
Issuance of about two issues of each journal yearly continued until the year 1429 A.H., except for UQU Journal of Shari`ah Sciences, Arabic Language, and Literature, which began to be issued in four issues per year from 1420 A.H.
Fourth Stage (Year 1429 A.H until now)
His Excellency the UQU President issued a decision for the amendment of the names of the three scientific journals, and the issuance of four new scientific journals, as follows:
