Tasks of the Academic Advising Committee:

  1. Developing a plan for academic supervision at the department.
  2. Supervising the execution of an academic supervision plan.
  3. Raising awareness of the importance of the unit among students and how they can benefit from its services.
  4. Informing students about the goals, missions, and educational programs of the department, areas of work for graduates, and aspects of care and services that the department provides for its students.
  5. Distributing new students to academic supervisors, and publishing lists on advertisement boards at the beginning of every academic year.
  6. Submitting a report periodically about the work of the unit.
  7. Studying the cases referred to it by college administration, preparing reports about them, and sending these reports to the relevant bodies.
  8. Considering students' academic problems referred to it by advisors and seeking to solve them with the college and university administration.
  9. Studying students' complaints about any course, finding solutions, and submitting them to the college administration.
  10. Educating students about the importance of academic advising and the importance of communicating with their academic advisor.
  11. Supervising the academic guidance programs for new students to inform them about the study system and exams in the department.
  12. The committee convenes periodically once every semester or according to new reports.
  13. To contribute to solving students' psychological, financial, social, and practical problems and submitting them to the Deanship of Student Affairs to take action, if necessary.
