The Department in Brief:

Dissertations and Manuscripts Department receives, saves, classifying, and show UQU's dissertations presented by researchers to be used by the beneficiaries in the traditional or the digitized formats.

 

Objectives:

Ordering and classifying theses to be easily accessed and used by the beneficiaries.

 

Qualifications and skills needed for working in the department:

  • Good command of computer skills

  • Good command of English

  • People skills

 

Duties:

  • Receiving dissertations

  • Sorting dissertations

  • Filling Availability Form

  • Adding barcode to theses

  • Affixing the library stamp

  • Sending a hardcopy to the girls' branch, adding a barcode, labeling paper copies

  • Guiding the beneficiaries to the steps of necessary information

  • Rearranging packages

 

Procedures and examples:

  • Receiving dissertations (Dissertations delivery form)

  • Conducting the technical processes including the sorting and the classification

  • Proving hard covering to dissertations (covering and restoring sample)
