Message from the General Supervisor

- 2019/02/28

The legal department team, headed by the General Supervisor, endeavors to commit to the message of the president of the university in respect of guarding rights. The department performs its tasks and providing advice, fearing Allah in everything it provides to maintain the rights of the university and its staff. To achieve the justice that Allah commanded, the legal department adopts professionalism in line with principles of legality and regularity to improve performance. To that end, the administration has restructured the department in accordance with the aspirations and tasks assigned through introducing a number of units operating within a harmonious system and specific procedures. These units include:

  • A unit for cases, which is responsible for addressing courts and the other judiciary authorities with regard to the cases related to UQU.
  • A consultancy unit tasked with providing consultations to the concerned authority according to the regulations. In addition, the unit is concerned with reviewing the executive rules and regulations.
  • Auditing and review unit is tasked with reviewing minutes of colleges and the official document of its recommendations, besides studying the special procedures which are in need of revision.
  • A contracts unit, which is tasked with reviewing contracts and agreements, and legally drafting them to be ready for approval of the concerned person.
  • A committees unit that is concerned with studying the legal formation of committees and following up on its goals and work mechanisms. It provides the management with the advice and opinions regarding many permanent and non-permanent committees in the university.

There are other supportive units that help carry out, follow up on and develop work. The department aspires perfection, public interest, and whatever contributes to upgrading Umm Al-Qura University, I pray that Allah crown our efforts with success.
