The Internal Committees of the Department

The Department Council consists of a group of administrative and academic committees which have the task of facilitating the duties of the Department Council so as to help it make appropriate recommendations on proposed topics and propose outstanding ideas that can contribute to enhancing the performance inside the department. Each committee has specific duties to undertake, as shown in the following tables, and each committee has a coordinator who coordinates between the members of his committee and distributes the tasks to the members. In addition, he submits minutes of the meetings to the head of the department.

General Duties of All Committees:

  • Submitting the minutes of each meeting held by the committee to the head of the department
  • Contributing to enriching the content of the department website
  • Performing other tasks and assignments, as requested by the head of the department
  • Recording the achievements of the committee in the annual report

This is in addition to the specific tasks of each committee, as outlined for each of the supporting committees and academic accreditation committees.

First: Supporting Committees

Programs and Curricula Committee

  • Examining and evaluating study plans
  • Updating the current programs and introducing new study programs
  • Curriculum review and development
  • Selecting appropriate textbooks for the department's curriculum
  • Supervising the course equivalency forms for the study plans

  • Reviewing the files for extension applications and submitting recommendations to the Department Council

  • Creating a database for graduate students
  • Introducing graduates to the different fields of work after graduation
  • Maintaining a link between the department and its students after graduation
