Training and Continuing Education Department

This department is responsible for identifying UQU training needs pertaining to e-learning and distance learning; preparing and developing training programs that fulfill such needs and requirements, as well as identifying the community needs of training programs with the aim of promoting e-learning and distance learning.  

 

Main Tasks:

  1. Preparing the proper plans to schedule and carry out training programs; indicate training places and reporting those plans to the deanship for approval;
  2. Supervising and following up on the programs carried out by the department;
  3. Liaising with the various deanship departments, exchanging the required data and providing information to the deanship;
  4. Assessing and following up on continuing education plans and programs;
  5. Preparing regular reports to the deanship;
  6. Undertaking any other tasks assigned to it.

 

 

The department comprises the following divisions:

  1. Training Courses Division

Tasks:

  1. Identifying UQU's needs of e-learning and distance learning programs and training courses;
  2. Proposing training plans and programs to meet the training needs and develop
  3. Preparing and developing training courses content as per the proposed plans;
  4. Carrying out and supervising training courses;
  5. Assessing of the offered training programs and reporting on them to the deanship;
  6. Developing and updating a database for training programs;
  7. Undertaking any other tasks assigned to it.

 

2- Continuing Education Division

Tasks:

  1. Identifying community needs for e-learning and distance learning programs and training courses;
  2.  Preparing the proper plans to schedule and carry out continuing education programs;
  3. Activating community partnership in implementation of e-learning and distance learning training programs and courses;
  4. Developing and updating a database for continuing education programs;
  5. Undertaking any other tasks assigned to it.

 

   2.1  The division oversees e-learning units at educational departments.

      E-learning Unit Tasks:

  1. Identifying educational departments' and schools' needs for e-learning and distance learning programs and training courses;
  2. Forming teams to conduct studies and carry out the initiatives proposed by the deanship;
  3. Offering consultations with regard to the educational departments' issues referred by the deanship;
  4. Following up on the outcomes of researches and studies conducted by the deanship on public education;
  5. Running and supervising training courses;
  6. Assessing the impact of the offered initiatives, and reporting on it to the deanship;
  7. Undertaking any other tasks assigned to it.

 

        3. Coordination and Follow-up Division

         Tasks:

  1. Coordinating with the deanship's Public Relations and Media department to advertise training courses via available media;
  2. Following up on training process according to the approved plan and mechanism, and generating regular and closing reports to the deanship;
  3. Ensuring the availability of operational requirements to run the training courses;
  4. Undertaking any other tasks assigned to it.
