Introduction:

The program, “Excellence and Innovation in Digital Education”, is one of the initiatives of the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education at Umm Al-Qura University targeting male and female academic staff members in the different Saudi universities. It aims to develop digital learning skills and raise the quality of distance education to increase the effectiveness of e-learning, shifting to the application of best practices followed in the field of digital education and promoting the optimal use of the latest e-learning methods and technologies.

Objectives:

  1. Achieve the effective national role of UQU as a pioneering university in the field of e-learning.
  2. Boost the quality of the distance education and improve its educational outcomes.
  3. Apply the best practices followed in the field of digital education.
  4. Develop digital learning skills of the academic staff members in the different Saudi universities.
  5. Enhance the practical side and make digital learning skills reflect on the available educational systems at Umm Al-Qura University.

Target Group:

Male and female academic staff members of Saudi universities which use the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Method of Participating in the Program:

For the UQU academic staff: You can register in each training course separately; if you wish to register in the entire program, please register in all the training courses and  adhere to the required criteria to obtain a certificate for passing the program on “Excellence and Innovation in Digital Education”.

For the non-UQU academic staff: you can register through the National Single Sign-on Portal via the UQU website, and return to this page to register in each training course separately. If you wish to register in the entire program, please register in all the training courses and adhere to the required criteria to obtain a certificate for passing the program on “Excellence and Innovation in Digital Education”.

Criteria for obtaining a certificate of attendance for each individual training course:

  • Attendance shall not be less than 70% of the total course time

Criteria for obtaining a certificate for passing the training program:

  • Attending all sessions of the training program
  • Attendance for each training course shall not be less than 70% of the total time
  • The capstone project shall be delivered before 21 April 2021.
