The mechanism for measuring the satisfaction of the beneficiary (student/academic staff member) with regard to providing the course using the e-learning system entails analyzing the results of questionnaires which were designed for this purpose. These questionnaires cover several basic themes which were reached through the review and governance of many schemes and sources in order to come up with a framework that measures various aspects of the beneficiary’s satisfaction. These are also consistent with the strategic objectives of Umm Al-Qura University and the offered services.
The themes are as follows:
1. Usage (40% of the questionnaire’s expressions and items)
This theme focuses on the impressions describing user’s experience of the e-learning system in terms of accessibility and ease of use.
2. Effectiveness (30% of the questionnaire’s expressions and items)
This theme identifies the beneficiaries opinions regarding the pros and cons of providing educational content using the e-learning system, the obstacles hindering the maximum benefit of this content, as well as the opinions and suggestions to overcome them.
3. Confidence (20% of the questionnaire’s expressions and items)
This theme identifies the beneficiary’s opinions regarding the accuracy and reliability of the provided data and content, besides the ways of attracting the beneficiary’s attention and integrating him into the learning environment.
4. Awareness (10% of the questionnaire’s expressions and items.)
This theme identifies the beneficiary’s impression about media and awareness of the provided technical, technological and academic support services, and methods and mechanisms to make use of them.
